John Rabe

Last night we finished a movie called John Rabe. I've always had a strong interest in World War 2 movies. Some have said that's cruel and can't believe I like those movies but I like them because they really touches my heart, and it's history. Alot of this stuff actually happened like it or not, and it's fascinating to see how human can behave the way they did, doing such awful acts against each other. The movie John Rabe is very different from any of the other movies I've seen. It takes place in World War 2 but it is about a John who is a German man that happened to work for Siemen in Nanking China for 27 years. When he was about to move back to Germany, that was when the Japanese started attacking Nanking and brutally destroying the city and the people. The movie is about John creating a safety zone for the Chinese and him risking his life to help the Chinese. It is based on true story (like most other World War 2 movies except Inglorious Bastards..) and they actually have a memorial set him for him today in Nanking. Very touching movie and particularly interesting because I've never watched another WW2 movie in this setting from this perspective.
